Friday's Favorites

This week's big excitement was Zach's birthday party. Hard to believe our little guy is already one. Where did the time go?

Lindsey and Romy flew in from Philadelphia to help us celebrate. Here are a few pics from the big day:

The new play kitchen is providing hours of fun for the boys. Thanks Mimi!

Friday's Favorites (a little late)

Only my second week of "Friday's Favorites" and I'm already late - Sorry! It's been a slow picture-taking week, but we did get a few from our visit with Gary and Julie:
Zach's first taste of sherbet.
Luke playing in the sandbox Grandpa Boese built.
The boys loved the new Slip 'n Slide that JuJu picked out.

Friday's Favorites

Zach LOVES his pasta. Maybe there is some Italian in him?

Smoothies have been the afternoon snack at our house these days (thanks G and P for the hand blender). Luke is very nice about sharing.

Zach loves his new box ride. Who needs fancy toys?

Bath time is always interesting.

Luke likes to hold Zach's hand on car rides - LOVE this!

Swinging at Christian's birthday party.

This is often what happens when I ask the boys to smile for the camera.

Thought I might try to post our favorite pictures each week so our family can check in on the weekends and get the latest updates. Feel free to call me out if I miss a Friday - somebody needs to keep me in check :).

**I must give credit to my friend Amy for this one. I saw this on her blog and decided to adopt it for my own. Thanks, Amy!**

Graduation Day!

Mom is so proud!

Dad is so proud!

High Five, big brother!

Ashes, ashes, we all fall DOWN!

Ring around the rosy, pocket full of posies...

Accepting his certificate from Ms. Lori.

We all attended Luke's graduation today. (Sniffle, sniffle - How will I get the grocery shopping done now?) :) It was a nice event. No cap and gown yet, but he did get to walk across the stage to accept a certificate from his teacher, Ms. Lori. His class then performed a "skit" (it was actually just two rounds of Ring Around the Rosy) before heading out to the playground for a picnic of hot dogs, fruit, and treats. (Luke was in heaven!) The whole thing was pretty silly, but I did find myself looking back on the past school year with fond memories. Like of Luke's first day of school wearing his "big boy" underwear and carrying his first backpack and lunchbox. And the drive home that day when I asked him how school was and he answered, "I hit a boy." He really has grown up A LOT this year. Some things I'll miss, some I won't, but I will definitely look back on it all as a great learning experience - for us both. NOTE: Sorry for the blurry pics. We're looking into a new fancy shmancy camera to avoid these mishaps.

Swimming Season is Here

This past weekend marked the beginning of swimming season for our family. Steve has been working hard this spring to get the pool crystal clear, and just in time. We've had several 90 degree days which has made the water the perfect temperature for swimming. Zach was a little too young last year so this is his first experience in the pool. Steve slowly inched him in, and Zach LOVED it!!! He loves floating around in his tube watching his brother swim around like a fish. Mabel also provides lots of entertainment, fetching ball after ball that Steve throws in the pool. It's great for our schedule as Steve takes the boys in the pool while I prepare dinner and occassionally peek out to check on them all. Notice that I finally broke down and purchased matching swimsuits for the boys. It was just too tempting!!!
